Man, this album is an absolute banger.  My buddy Zack back in the USA is obsessed with this band.  I mean, I have seen them live but I never dove deep into their discography.  Starting with “Sworn to the Dark”, I am not disappointed in the least.  More than half this album is completely balls-out insane.  A lot of people say that black metal is not their thing because it can get repetitive, but I found myself headbanging for most of this wonderful release.  I have told this story on my radio show a few times, I will repeat it here.  I saw Watain a few years back, headlining a show in the suburbs of Chicago in the middle of a snowstorm in January.  Rotting Christ opened up for them, and they slayed.  When Watain started up, some dude had 2 32 ounce bottles of Gatorade filled with pig’s blood that was festering for at least a couple weeks.  Mind you, this was a sold out show.  Guy went in the middle of the pit, and opened both bottles, and started spinning in the middle of the pit.  OH MY GOD THE STENCH!  It was freezing cold outside, and they had to open the doors to let the venue get some fresh air in.  Everyone in the it was loving the blood spilling.  Everyone was moshing in it, Everyone was rolling around in it in their battle-jackets.  Everyone was a brother for that 80-90 minute performance of Watain.  Holy shit that was a sight to behold.  You can be damn sure that Watain is gonna be a regular on my future playlists.  HAIL WATAIN!

Człowieku, ten album absolutnie Cię rozbuja.  Mój kumpel Zack w USA ma obsesję na punkcie tego zespołu.  To znaczy, widziałem ich na żywo, ale nigdy nie zagłębiłem się w ich dyskografię.  Zaczynając od „Sworn to the Dark”, nie zawiodłem się ani trochę.  Ponad połowa tego albumu jest całkowicie szalona.  Wiele osób twierdzi, że black metal nie jest dla nich, ponieważ może się powtarzać, ale przez większość tego wspaniałego wydawnictwa potrząsałem głową.  Opowiedziałem tę historię kilka razy w swoim programie radiowym, powtórzę ją tutaj.  Kilka lat temu widziałem Wataina, który był głównym bohaterem programu na przedmieściach Chicago w środku burzy śnieżnej w styczniu.  Gnijący Chrystus otworzył się przed nimi i rozgromili scenę.  Kiedy Watain zaczynał, jakiś koleś miał dwie, litrowe butelki Gatorade wypełnione krwią świni, którą zbierał przez co najmniej kilka tygodni.  Pamiętaj, to był wyprzedany koncert.  Facet wszedł na środek “circle pit”, otworzył obie butelki i zaczął wirować.  O mój Boże, ale śmierdziało!  Na zewnątrz było mroźno i musieli otworzyć drzwi, żeby wpuścić do sali trochę świeżego powietrza. Wszyscy w sali uwielbiali rozlewającą się krew.  Wszyscy się w niej bawili, wszyscy tarzali się w niej w swoich skórzanych kurtkach.  Każdy był bratem podczas 80-90 minutowego występu Wataina.  Cholera, to było widowisko.  Możesz być cholernie pewien, że Watain będzie regularnie pojawiać się na moich przyszłych listach odtwarzania.  HAIL WATAIN!
