Ideamen / Without Waves / Sons of Ra / 2015

An awesome night this was at Liar’s Club back in 2015!

Have you ever had just one of those nights that you look back on and say, “Holy moley, now that was a great time”?  You know, a night that just has AWESOME stamped on it inside of your brain.  It has been a while since one of those nights occurred for me, up until August 28, 2015.

Liars’ club hosted one hell of a show that night.  Showcasing some mad skills by some really amazing musicians.  Ian Tomele of Wrecking Ball Productions and his genius mind managed to get Without Waves, Sons of Ra, and Ideamen to play under the same roof.  I am still surprised Liars’ Club even has a roof still after these amazing band’s performances.  Let me tell you a bit about these bands…

Without Waves.  I cannot even begin to explain to you the awesomeness that this band brings to the table.  Take Between the Buried and me and mix it with some Jeff Buckley and twist in some Deftones.  That is just the icing on the cake that Without Waves is.  They started their show off with their song “Blood and Rust” and ended their set with their future hit “Us Against”.  Without Waves is in the studio now to release a new album, make sure you keep an eye out for it!

Sons of Ra.  Rock in Chicago owner Erik Oldman shreds his PRS with Keith Wakefield on bass and Marc on drums.  THIS right here was a really huge highlight of the night, with Sons of Ra delivering a punishing onslaught of proggy jazz fusion goodness.  Seeing these guys play is something really special, make it a point to check them out if you have not already.

The night ended with my beloved, favorite band from Chicago, Ideamen.  The band that never disappoints.  Their high energy resonates throughout any venue they play at, causing myself and every other person to dance uncontrollably.  Ideamen is a band you do not ever want to miss, and if you are at one of their shows, chances are you will see me right up at the front of the crowd.

The night ended really positive.  All the bands played their hearts and guts out, and the whole show went smooth as a baby’s bottom.  One of the most fun nights I have had in a loooong time.
